Biography

"Squire, come nearer, if your will it be, and speak to us of love; for certainly you know thereof as much as any man." -Geoffrey Chaucer, The Canterbury Tales

An orphan at birth, the boy was left with only a name and no parents save for his mother that died in childbirth, so a kind blacksmith took the boy in and raised him. As an apprentice, the boy became a skilled smith as he grew. At age 8, a royal knight named Sir Hector, who saw a little of himself in young Isaac, took the lad off the blacksmith's hands, and raised him from there. The boy had aspirations to become a knight, and so Hector trained him in the ways of the sword.

Over the course of his life, he had made many friends, such as a kind maiden of his age named Gail, a young yeoman of the forest named Lance, a fellow blacksmith named Vakama, and a most heroic knight named Richard, who had often fought along side Hector in earlier battles. He had much joy in the short of his life thus far, but it couldn't last, and was about to change forever…

Darkness had come to the Atlantic, in the form of the Dread Pirate Cervantes, terrorizing the seas for over twenty years. It was then, when it was discovered that the bloodied weapon of the pirate was in fact none other than the cursed sword of legend, the Soul Edge. Upon learning this truth, Richard passed this information unto Isaac, but before he could say anything further, assassins in the service of a powerful warlord desiring the sword sprang upon the knight and captured him. Isaac was forced to escape with help from his friends, and could do nothing but watch the rogues make off with their new captive. In guilt over his capture, Isaac vowed to save him.

After an assault on the hiding place of the ruffians that had captured Richard, with aid of other knights and his friends, Isaac managed to rescue his hero, and fled from the captors across Europe, to Ostrheinsburg Castle where he and the knights were forced to fight off Spanish forces attacking, only to retreat, but not before Isaac was saved from death by his master Hector. Shedding bitter tears over the sacrifice his master had made, he continued on his journey with his friends and Sir Richard, and eventually made it to the hideout of the Dread Pirate.

Yet again, fate struck without mercy to this young soul's heart. More barbarians set upon Isaac and his company, and Richard and Vakama had gone missing during the battle. When Isaac went looking for them, he found Richard lying dead upon the port where minutes before, the pirate had slain the heroic knight and claimed his soul. Upon his body, and upon his friend Vakama who was nowhere in sight, and believed to have been slain as well, he swore to exact justice for this fell deed.

He would not rest until Soul Edge was no more…
