For his counterpart, if you want to refer to the British Arthurian legend, I'd say Guinevere. But if you want from either two, Christa and Geraldine are both from German origin. It's OK to use either in CotS's mixed background. For me, Geraldine sounds less generic.
For his background on joining the army, there are many variety you can use, such as:
- To become strong because he's bullied by (quite generic and juvenile)
- To look for the scar-on-cheek man who burned his village (also generic)
- To prove that Girardot is out of whack (kinda shallow)
- To have shelter and food (can work, althogh quite sad)
- To follow Abelia, his/her childhood friend (neutral)
- To become a hero by helping Grandall first, and use his/her friend Chester to defeat the Maletta/Dalkia/Haltese alliance. Chester should go extreme by faking his death in Cadet's hand. Then Chester will help weaken the Grandall army by standing as Strife's advisor. By this time, Girardot will not tolerate the kingdom and make a rebellion. Convince Girardot by fighting him with all patriot burning talk, and of course he will get killed because your bro Chester already told Strife that Girardot knows too much. Make his death as a reason to rebel, kill Chester because he knows too much, kill Strife, become the hero (Xanatos plan!)
What kind of story you're after?
