Vogar and his foster brother Kiergan trained all their lives to be great warriors. They became elite soldiers of the Dark Emperor known as the Black Guard. Kiergan became Commander and Vogar his second in command. But when a failed campaign cost many of Dakkon's soldier's lives, Kiergan went to him and blamed it all on Vogar. Dakkon became furious and attacked Vogar, leaving him near death and horribly scarred. During his recovery he learned of Shakari's plot against her father, and soon joined. He faced Keirgan during the fight and killed him. For his service, Kristof gave him command of the Black Guard.
