A chef from Longzhen, one of the side characters from Chuuka Ichiban. Tang Sanjie met Liu Maoxing during his training at Yanquan restaurant, which was the same reason with Mao. He had a fear of knives since he accidentally stabbed his hand during his early days at Longzhen, thus could not make a proper dish. He was on the verge of getting fired, but Mao helped him and rekindled Sanjie's passion of cooking. While Sanjie was not fired, he quit his training at Yanquan and chose to return to Longzhen, since he did not want to abuse Mao's kindness. As a parting gift, he left his frying pan with Mao.
Sanjie made an appearance later, when Mao, who was on a journey to collect the legendary utensils, he was in a tough situation in Shanghai. Sanjie, now a head chef at Longzhen, decided to help him since the Underground Cooking Society was also searching for the utensil in Shanghai. In a cooking competition aboard a vast ship of the Society, he won against Luo Ke.
During the competition at the Forbidden Palace, Sanjie once again helped Mao, bringing the legendary utensil with him.
Sanjie did not have a signature cooking utensil. In the Indonesian translation, he is known as Tan Sanche.
