Shakari was never meant to be. The Dark Emperor bloodline was always passed from father to son, but Dakkon's wife Kaleina gave birth to a baby girl. Unable to bear him anymore children, Kaleina disappeared when Shakari was still a child. Kaleina's loyal servant Sikozu told Shakari that Dakkon had something to do with her disappearance. When she came of age, she began secretly plotting an insurrection against her father, even sending out loyal servants to find the man prophesied to become the new Dark Emperor. Her bodyguard Zara returned with Kristof, who later defeated Dakkon. Shakari later accepted Kristof's offer to become his Empress
