Author Notes
She was my gateway into the dark chocolate, the first black female I've ever made. I often don't get the chance to make her design before the events of the prologue when she wasn't in possession of the Crystal Blade Which I've only been able to do in SC5 & SW4.
Soulcalibur III
- Costume 1 ~ Knight of Destiny
- The outfit has gone through numerous revisions, but has always kept two things similar.
- Qipao-like outfit
- Crossed belt around her waist
- Costume 2 ~ Exiled Knight
- The earliest concept of her attire 10 years after the prologue of the story.
Soulcalibur IV
- Costume 1 ~ Knight of Destiny
- Tweaked from her BD version to be more accurate.
- Costume 2 ~ Exiled Knight
- Slight tweak from the BD version to be more accurate to her design.
Soulcalibur BD
- Costume 1 ~ Knight of Destiny
- Considering BD's limits I couldn't give her chest armor (which she does wear) along with the top, though it's more like a Qipao. I wanted to keep the knives from Rouge Trousers even though she's not supposed to have pants more like a split skirt.
- Costume 2 ~ Exiled Knight
- Supposed to have Scarlet Blossom as the top, but it wasn't in BD so I had to improvise.
Soulcalibur V
- Costume 1 ~ Knight of Destiny
- The most accurate version of her outfit to date. Combining various parts from her earlier incarnations into one.
- Costume 2 ~ Exiled Knight
- A bit of improvision to her design to somewhat match what she had in SC4.
- Costume 3 ~ Black Lion
- I've never had the chance in previous games to make her outfit before she became a destined warrior (Costume 1), I've also had the urge recently to add her to my recurring character list so I figured I'd give this outfit a shot at recreation. Due to how Upper Torso armor works she looks bulkier than she should.
- Costume 4 ~ Shimmering Blade
- Alternate look of her Costume 2 giving her more armor, she has a unitard as the undergarment to act like a shirt otherwise the Breastplate would get bulkier. This similar to what her 7: Empires version looks like with proper color placement.
Warriors Series
- Dynasty Warriors 7 Costume 1 ~ Knight of Destiny
- A different take on her usual design due to there not being anything like what she has in SC5. Thanks to being able to customize the face I can make her not look as angry as she does in the Soulcalibur games. She has an ice based musou to simulate as if she had Crystal Blade in possession.
- Dynasty Warriors 7 Costume 2 ~ Exiled Knight
- This was the character that sparked my interest in creating my Dark Time cast in DW7:E as I originally didn't have plans to make them (since I didn't for 6:E). My main gripe is all the Gold which should be Silver which can't be done in 7:E. She has fire based musous this time as she's no longer in possession of the Crystal Blade which gave her ice attacks.
- Dynasty Warriors 8 Costume 1 ~ Knight of Destiny
- Slight hair change compared to 7:E, otherwise just a moveset update.
- Dynasty Warriors 8 Costume 2 ~ Exiled Knight
- Different Body Armor part thanks to DLC, like 7:E would like if the armor could be Silver while keeping her clothing Black.
- Samurai Warriors 4 ~ Knight of Destiny
- As with most Dark Time characters her concept is based on an alpha design before her true design (which the Soulcalibur games have come close to). The high ponytail version of this hair isn't in SW4. Janetsa was originally going to have a ponytail in early conception, but it was dropped as it looked cute which was not something I wanted to describe Janetsa with. Like her teacher Nepenthe she has a scarf which was the "uniform" for his students back then. She was going to wield a Sword & Shield, but I thought it was going to be dull so I switched it for a Sword like Xiahou Dun's in later planning.
