Once a friend of Rousreuel who is now his sworn foe, Iairus too was an orphan he grew up with and his only friend who defended him from others that bullied him. While Iairus was very well liked, this led to Rousreuel's envy of him while it was in fact Iairus himself who envied the supposed Demon-spawn more for his gifts in Magicks yet he wished to make sure that the demonic influences would take over neither of them. Unlike Rousreuel though, he never questioned the Sanctorum or the Order and after Rousreuel left the Godhand's service, Iairus became his only squire and has mastered his techniques. He quickly rose through the ranks of the holy knights due to his expertise in warfare and he was even granted the gift by the Novus Lux's Imperator to learn magicks so he could contend with whatever demons they would have to face- be it Bal himself or a fully corrupted Rousreuel, his target. Because of his history with the Necromancer, Iairus has been manipulated by his superiors to hunt down the renegade apostate believed to be the Novus Lux's greatest threat. Iairus however does not know of the society that binds him into their loyal puppet, the only reason Rousreuel pities his old first friend. Iairus believes absolute obedience to the Novus Lux's tenets is the only right in the world as opposed to his former companion.
