Zinnia and Hyacinth are princesses of two Seelie Fey tribes that co-exist in a less foreboding area of the Forest of Shadows. The casual observer would only see thickets and meadows containing little more than insects and butterflies, as the Fey world lies slightly out of sync with the mortal world, and most beings cannot see into it. Their peaceful seclusion was broken one day when they were attacked by a large army of Unseelie Fey, ugly and misshapen creatures from deep within the Forest of Shadows. Loyal Fey warriors managed to escort the princesses out of forest. They managed to escape to the Black Citadel and were allowed sanctuary by the Emperor. They hope to one day take back their land from the Unseelie Fey and to free their people.
