Hannya is an Aka-Oni (red oni). She was forced to marry a strong yet extremely violent Aka-Oni warlord Shuten Doji. But when Shuten became obsessed with obtaining the Soul Edge, his quest took him and a group of his strongest warriors to the land known as Ostrheinsburg. There he encountered Kristof, and was slain when he foolishly attacked him. Hannya saw this as a good opportunity to abscond from the clan. Afraid of repercussions from any surviving members of her former clan, she begged for protection from the Emperor, swearing herself to be a faithful lifelong servant. She now serves the Emperor as servant, cook, and maid. She is a very ambitious entity, so there is no telling what plans she is contemplating.
